Is there a pill that will cancel your next period?

My aunt told me that there is a pill that will prevent your next period from coming. has anybody used it? would it be bad for a 15 year old to use it?

-Miristi.
Answer:
Yes, but don't use it. It'll mess up your development!
Yes. Talk to your dr. You can get on a system of pills or an IUD that keep you fom getting your period more than 3 times a year. OR (talk to doc first) you can take active pills (not the pink placebo week) and as long as you are on active pills, you will not get your period. After years on the pill, decades even, I would adjust mine all the time to get my period one week rather than the next.
Taking THE pill straight through will,,, as will the shot.
yea take 100mL of ecstasy it'll help a lot
yes-birth controls.
If I dont want my period for the month, I just continue using my birth control instead of using the placebos for a week. My doctor says its safe and okay if i still allow my period every three months.
There are several ways of "cancelling" a period, such as going on birth control that only gives you a few periods a year...or if you're already on birth control, skipping the sugar pills and going straight to the next pack will make you skip. But no matter what age you are, it's not good for your body...it's messing with your hormones and it's not natural.
Yes there is such a pill and it's called Seasonale. At 15, maybe it's not for you. You could try Diane 35 instead...cuz it is a low-dose contraceptive.
To stop your periods you need to be on the contraceptive pill, taking it every day. You would need to have been taking the pill for 3 weeks already for it to work.

I don't think a doctor would prescribe it for you at 15 without a good reason
On the normal pill you can skip a period by taking the hormone tablets right the way through when you should be taking the lactose ones. Wouldn't do it very often though.
any sort of birth control can stop a period if taken contunuously. NEVER do this unless under the supervision of a proffesional!
You wouldn't want it. Why do you want to prevent your period? Don't tell me it's because prom is here and you want to get laid... YOU ARE ONLY 15...

BUT, in case it's for medical reasons, lol, I'll tell you.
There is a birth control pill called Seasonel (sp) and that pill only lets you have a period 4 times a year. NOW, those periods obviously would last longer and I don't see why you would want to not have a period except 4 times out of the year because I would think that it could cause problems in your body, but- hey! Whatever floats your boat...
Why would you want to stop it for in the first place? Its not very good for your being so young in all.
its never good if you dont have a period. itf we werent supposed to, we wouldnt have one.
i havent heard of this pill, but yes, there are ways to "skip" you period. if youre on regular birth control, and you skip your sugar pills or "reminder pills" and start the new pack of hormoned, it may be possible that you can skip your period. ive had friends do it, and they said after they did, they had horrible cramping and were really sick. i wouldnt recommend it.
Yes it's possible to stop your periods with pills or shots. But at age 15 it would not be good for your body. Why are you not wanting to have what is natural for your body? Menstrual periods are so healthy for you as a cleansing. Pills of any kind will mess up your system.
any birth control or oral contraceptive pill can stop any period. The way that it can occur is if you continue to take every day the pill, and skip the placebo pill usually taken on last week of pills. The placebo pills have no medication, thus you have menstration. There are some birth control pills that do this for 6 months (seasonale) but most birth control pills can do this as well. For safety wise, that depends on your physical maturation, history of menstration, risk factors. Best and complete answer is check with your PCP or OB/Gyn doctor. Any underage patient that speaks to a doctor pertaining to birth control is private and confidential to their parents.
Any birth control pill can be taken continuously (not taking the sugar pills) and it will prevent a period. GYN doctors prescribe this all the time it is safe. Alot of people say you will build up endometrium lining and that's bad...not true you will not build up lining or harm your body. There is also an injection Depro Provera which will stop your period and you get them every 3 months. I would talk to your doctor before to see what would be an appropriate method for you. The whole reason for stopping periods vary, most of the time its to stop painful, heavy flows.
No there isn't actually. Talk to your doctor about your situation and see what he/she says.

I would NOT recommend the shot. Horrible side affects. (on it for four years, no way would i recommend that for a 15 year old).

If you are on the pill, skipping sugar pills might NOT actually work, you could still get it AND mess up your cycle in the process (happened to me, never again am I skipping pills).

Sorry if I sound snarky, but you ruined the trip not your period. Don't let it run your life. Take tampons, and pamprin with you.

Is there a natural solution to stop period pains?

The first day i start my period i have really bad period pain, vomiting, diarea and sometimes i fell really faint. It only happens the first day then its fine i asked most of my friends and they say that this doesn鈥檛 happen to them, is it just me? It鈥檚 really annoying because i have to miss a day off school and then try and catch up on what i missed. i have looked into the contraceptives but i don鈥檛 want to take them. Is their any natural solution, e.g. cold liver oil, evening prime rose oil to stop this from happening?
Answer:
Pain this severe even for just one day needs to be evaluated by a dr to see what could be going on.

As for alternative treatments I've heard about using evening primrose oil but I would recommend talking to your dr first to see what they suggest.

The reason that contraceptives are sometimes recommended is because sometimes hormone imbalances are reason for the painful periods and sometimes the pill can straighten it out.
shove a bottle rocket in your vagina, light it, and you'll be
good to go.
Wild Yam Root helped me with pain an irregular periods. I get Solaray brand from health food store.
I can understand your plight very well as my niece was also suffering like you.
She was given Mag phos 6x every 15 minutes as soon as the pain started and within an hour she would become normal and the rest of the days it would be peaceful. Try this.
It sounds like you have severe PMS. You really need to see a doctor about this because although some pain and things are normal the other extreme things going on with your body are not normal. Your doctor could then treat you (hopefully).

To stop the cramps, a lot of women swear by using a heat pad or hot water bottle on your stomach. You could try it to see if it works for you - but I know it doesn't work for me. It is not a good ideal to use any natural remedies until you know the exact reason it is happening or without talking to a qualified natural health practitioner first. You can do more harm than good - it is the same with any standard medicine given by a medical doctor.

Good luck and get to the doctor, girl!
workout!
To stop period pain then use a hot water bottle, a pain killer or a bubble bath but if your symptoms continue i think it's important to see your doctor just to make sure everything's ok.
i was told when i used to get them bad is to do some light exercise that works to I've been doing it now for 7years give it try and see for your self.
No, it isn't just you, but your symptoms seem quite sevre! Missing school isn't such a big deal as it seems, just catch up work from your friends, this is part of a womans life which every female has been through. Every woman have different pains and period related illnesses, and yours just seems to be a bit more unusual than others, but asi said bfore, your not the only one!

The only solution is to go to your doctor and see what they can avise you and perscribe you. They may need to do blood tests and things like that as, feeling faint, needing the toilet more often and vomiting is quite common around low or high blood pressure!

Whatever this is, don't feel sad or insecure about this, most women come around things like this of their period too.

Just go and see your doctor, and with the things i have said before, i'm not trying to scare you, its fact.

You are fine, just need some help, tips and advise on how to prevent this!

Good Luck xx :)
evening primrose work..ive been taking it since i started my period.i wont work strait away coz it needs to build up in your systom
go to doctor i'm 35 and have problem periods all my life painfull heavy irregular you name it
dont suffer as long as i have i wouldn't wish it on anybody
good luck

Answer:
make sure when you're taking the iron, you take it with food or you will get upset stomach. as for the rest.not sure. but my suggestion would be to ask your doctor for a referal to a neurologist and a cardiologist. perhaps a c.t. and an m.r.i. would help find the problem...good luck :-)

Is there a difference with generic birth control and the real thing?

So today I finally got my birth control and will start today. My prescription said Alesse, but apperently they gave me generic (Lessina-28). Is there a difference? I am really dreading side-effects. Anyone had any with lessina?
Answer:
As far as a generic verses a brand name in this case there is no difference. It is all estrogen based and that is what works. Many do not have any side effects. Some have a little bloating or like a mild morning sickness for a few days but that goes away quickly. Don't worry about it be safe not sorry!!
I think a lot of pills are going generic so that we can afford to buy them and they do the same job that I know of
There is nothing different about generic and name brand. They have the same active ingredients. It's the fillers that are different. They work the same way. By law, the pharmacy has to give you the generic unless the Md specifically writes "no substitutions". The side effects are going to be the same. Don't worry. If you do have side-effects just stop taking the medication and call your Md to try a different one.
No just the generic brand is more cheaper then the name brand still works the same. Any type of pill will have side effects but not every one has them. They just put that there to warn you.
no difference between them both. think of it as the store brand which it cheaper and the name brand which cost more. maybe your insurance did't cover the name brand, but covered the "store brand"

Is there a cure for pcos?

I have recently been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and having read lots of info on the net, I'm now confused. I haven't always had this condition so is it possible for it to go away or have I got it forever now?
Answer:
Hi there is no cure for pcos but you can do things to help the condition. It doesn't go away but you can help to improve the symptoms.there is a predisposition for people to develop pcos and it often runs in families.

eat fresh fruit -veg - lean meat - wholemeal bread, pasta rice
drink water.
stop drinking alcohol and smoking
take up some form of gentle exercise.
try to cut out junk food - processed food and sweets - cakes and biscuits
try to keep at a healthy weight as excess weight can add to your symptoms and help with your fertility.
it also keeps the risk of high cholesterol and diabetes from deveoping

there is meds out there to help you ;-
metformin if your insulin resistant / diabetic
clomid to help some with ovulation
dianette contraceptive pill to help if you suffer from acne
ivf is also an option if clomid doesn't work.
there is also herbs agnus castus and wild yam cream that help balance your hormones and may also help you to concive need to be taken for about 3months to get in your system( not to be taken with other meds though)

the best thing I can say is to think positive as you can still get pregnant I have friends who have concieved naturally with pcos.
I haven't managed myself (found out about 6yrs ago) when went for test as had a new partner and we'd been ttc and nothing.
I had 2 kids to an ex (concive naturally) before I knew so you could say that it's definatly possible.
take care best of luck
If you have PCOS, your hormone system is out of balance. To correct this, your first step is to look at what you eat, how much you eat, and how much physical activity you get.

Having PCOS raises your risks of serious health problems. Eating heart-healthy foods, along with getting regular exercise, is the key to lowering these risks.
If you are overweight and have PCOS, a small amount of healthy weight loss is likely to start up your menstrual cycle and ovulation. (PCOS can make it hard to lose weight-making a plan with your doctor, a nutritionist, and/or an athletic trainer can help.)
usually pcos is treated with a drug called metformin (usually used for diabetes), as well as lifestyle changes, regualr exercise, change of diet and weight loss if you are over your BMI range.

To your question regarding - -will it go away, I would have said no, untill I found the second site. Take a look at both of them and you should be less confused.
I have been diagnosed with that same disease, You can help it by being more active and being slim down. I think that it is heriditary because my Aunt had some sort of a disease like that. Ask your doctor what can help with that disease.

Is their such thing as taking too many suppliments??

I am currently taking per day

3 red clover tablets
3 green tea tablets
3 cod liver tables
1 one a day multi vitamin
1 iron pill

I take this stuff for to shrink a fibroid tumor in my uterus. The one a day is just for regular vitiamin and the iron pill is because I have low blood.

Am I taking too many pills? Can all of this hurt me? I feel like an old lady taking all of this but I am only 31.
Answer:
Hi Cheryl,

It's not so much how many pills but rather how much of each dose you are taking. For example. it's not that you are taking 3 pills of red clover it's that you are taking 1500mg of red clover a day. Many supplements, if taken in very high doses, can be toxic. Vitamin A for example is quite toxic at very high doses. I'm sorry but I can only comment on what a "theraputic" dose versus the instructions on the bottle for the supplements that I take. You may want to tally how much Vitamin A you are getting with the cod liver and multi-vitamin. When I started Fish Oil theraphy for cholesterol and tryglicerides my doctor tol me not to take Cod Liver oil because it too is rich in Vitamin A. Since my multi vitamin has an extremely high dose of vitamin A already and I do take 2x the amount (am and pm) my doctor advised me against the cod liver.

Next time you go to your doctor brown paper bag it. Bring in all the supplements that you are taking and show him or her. Ask them if you are taking enough or too much. Remember, doses on the bottles/packaging are for maintenance and are at a much lower dose than what would be required for a theraputic dose; bottles don't tell you how much for that!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm only 37. I take 2 multi vitamins (x2), 4x1000 mg Vit C (over the course of the day; the body can only handle 1000mg at a time, any more and you simply urinate it out; more than 8000mg and you are hitting toxic levels), 200mg Selenium (x2), 400mg Vit E, 1000mg B12, 4500 mg Fish Oil and that's only the vitamins. Then there's medications!

Cheers.
too much of a good thing is never good. i'd cut out some of the red clover, green tea, and cod pills. why not take just 1 of those, and cut out the green tea altogether? u can drink green tea everyday and still get benefits.
Yes, there is with the one a day and the iron pill:

See this video to learn information that is brand new here:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...
supplements are ok to take. You are actually taking just a few. I am taking twenty different supplements, and I am ok.
Whatever your body lacks you can supplement without ill effects.
i take several supplements a day. it depends on the supplements on whether or not you could be taking too much.

the best thing to do is to ask your dr or pharmacist what their opinion is of the supplements you are taking. they might be able to suggest other supplements that would be better.

hope this helps. just my opinion.
Yes, you can take too many supplements. I wonder who would tell you that you can shrink a fibroid with this stuff. I sure wouldn't think so. As for the iron, you should have blood work done periodically to see if you are still anemic, cause with any kind of supplement, too much can be bad for you.
You should not be taking extra iron pills, it's inn the multivitamin already and taking too much iron can lead to iron poisoning and even death. Also, taking too much vit. C is bad for your kidneys.
Well it depends on who told you to take all of this. Yes there can be a thing a taking to many supplements. It can affect your health. If you have talked to your Dr and all these are fine and he or she See's no problem and is watching your blood work then there should be no problem.

Is their any way to boost ur period?

k i have never had my period and i just want it so is their a way to make it come any faster..... ??
Answer:
No.
You'll get it plenty soon.
Be happy that you haven't had it yet--I know, I was impatient before I got mine,too--but after the first time, the new wears off and you keep getting your period every month for 35-40 years.
Good luck
no, why would you want it? it hurts, and its gross...
Nope, your body will start when its ready! no way to force it to happen...be blessed you haven't yet, its a pain :)
no DUHHHH !
y r u so worried when u have it your going to wish you didnt so just wait it'll come in time
no, just be patient, it will happen when it's time. then you will wish it never happened!! lol
Not that I know of, and be glad. Once you get your period, you'll wish you'd never had it.
Oh I remember how that was. You want to get it so bad dont ya? trust me, once you do, you will wish you hadn't..lol. I have no idea how old you are but my mom had this theroy a few years back. It seems that more and more girls are getting their periods earlier all the time these days. My neice got hers at 8. 8! Anyhow, my moms theroy was that kids are going through puberty earlier because of the horomones in the meat we eat. Especially chicken. They cant produce enough to meet the needs, so they pump them up with hormones so they grow faster and we get more chicken. So eat chicken. It cant hurt, and it might work.lol. Good luck to you!
no and besides you'll only grow about one more year after you have your period so if you want to be taller then you dont want your period.
Nope, only puberty and good old mothernature takes care of that. Don't be in such a rush to get it because when you do, you will be wishing you never had it. The cramps, the water weight gain and bloating. Who looks forward to that. I think most women can agree.
If you are under 16, don't worry about it. You've got plenty of time (periods are NOT fun!).

If you are over 16 and you have had your first period, but your period is late (and you aren't pregnant), eat a wad (size of a quarter) of fresh parsley (they sell it at the grocery cheap). You should get your period in a day or two after that.

Good luck! :)
I don't know how old you are, but don't rush it. Let nature take it's course. It's a pain, so enjoy your time without it. Everything's gonna be okay. I promise.
I was jst like u, i as waiting for it to come so much, then i got it and for the first two days it was kind of cool, then IT GOT SOO HEAVY, ANNOYING AND I GOT THE WORST CRAMPS! not to mention PMS!
just stop wishing for it, and enjoy what days/months/years u haveleft of not having it!
NO! your period will arrive when your body is ready.

But why in the world would you want your period to come so soon, take your time because when it gets here and you will have it for many many years, you are going to wish it took its time. It is painful at time with cramps, and gross, and just not a pleasant thing.

But you didn't mention your age, are you really young or are you a teen and you have not had your period yet?
